The Job That Drained Him

November 02, 2026•4 min read

Think about getting up in the morning and loving the work.

Not putting up with it. Loving it. The hours fly. You come home with energy left over for the people you care about. Sunday night feels like Sunday night, not like the edge of a cliff.

Now think about the job you have, or the last one that wore you down. The alarm goes off and your chest gets heavy before your feet hit the floor. You do the work. You do it well. And at night there’s nothing left.

You’ve been told that’s just how work is. Suck it up. Be grateful you have a job.

That advice has cost a lot of good people their best years.

Ben got fired

Ben is not an easy sell. Thirty years in agriculture. Five years with his own astrologer. Weekly evaluations at work.

And Ben got fired.

He’ll tell you the reason himself. “The role I was in was not a fit based on my wiring. It was very taxing and draining.”

Years of it. Every single day. And the whole time he thought the problem was HIM. Not tough enough. Not disciplined enough. Not grateful enough.

His report said it before he did. The role was built for somebody else.

He put it side by side with his astrologer’s work and his evaluations. All three, pretty much in agreement. Then he posted this in my group:

“I rate this a 15/10 and I would recommend this to a friend! … The insights and corresponding action steps are just off the charts.”

What kills me about Ben’s story is the time. All those years of draining himself, and he could have known in ten minutes.

I’ve been guilty of that myself

I spent years trying to be good at everything. Fixing every weakness. Grinding grinding grinding on the parts of the work that emptied me.

Fifteen years in Kevin Trudeau’s circle and I still thought success meant forcing myself into whatever the plan said.

Kevin never did that. I lived in his house for about three and a half years and watched him up close. He built his whole life around what he’s great at. Every message he puts out is a sales message. He’s a master at it, and he doesn’t apologize for it or try to be anybody else.

The most successful people I’ve ever been around had one thing in common. They knew exactly who they were. What turned them on, what turned them off, what they were good at, and what they wanted.

You don’t know what you want because you don’t know who you are.

It may not be your fault

Eric’s app told him his wealth comes through his voice. So he used it, out loud, with a loan officer. His words on the reading: “98% of it is on target.” And later: “It is like it is seeing what is going on in my life and telling me what direction to go in next… It has me speechless.”

Mia works as a nurse. After her reading she wrote me this: “nursing was never the destination, but simply one way of living out a much deeper purpose.”

Same job. Seen for what it is. Once she saw what was underneath it, the work stopped being the whole story.

It may not be your fault the job drains you. Nobody ever showed you how you’re wired. But it IS your responsibility to find out.

Can it work for you?

Every one of these people asked the same question before they started. Will this work for me, or is it one more thing for the shelf?

Here’s the dare. Your free reading takes ten minutes. If it isn’t describing you within a page, close it. You’ve lost ten minutes and nothing else.

It won’t flatter you. Horoscopes flatter you. It will expose you. And set you free.

Alice ran hers: “This is the first time in my life that I am reading a document all about me. It FEELS GOOD.”

Dominic got on a call with me about his. Eight seconds in, before I’d asked a thing: “It was damn near pinpoint, every single section.”

There’s ONE thing in your reading that explains why certain work empties you. I’m not going to guess at it here. It’s different for everybody, and yours is waiting for you.

Then don’t figure out the next move alone. The group is where people like Ben, Eric and Mia work out what to do with what they found. A daily post. A Monday video with the step for the week. A live call with me every Wednesday. I answer every comment myself. Getting in is $27 a month, less than a dollar a day.

Ben would trade a lot to get those years back. You don’t have to lose yours.

The best is yet to come. I’ll see you very soon.

Results vary. What you get depends on you, your effort and your circumstances.
